Chattanooga State Community College hosted the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society Induction Ceremony on Saturday, May 10, honoring 44 outstanding adult students for their academic excellence and perseverance. The event, held on the college’s main campus, marked a significant milestone in the academic journeys of these high-achieving non-traditional students.
Officials said, "The ceremony featured a heartfelt welcome from Dr. Beth North, vice president of Academic Affairs, followed by an inspirational address from Keely Farris, coordinator of the Center for Teaching & Learning and proud ChattState alumna. Marsha Goolesby-Barker, director of Adult Services and Alpha Sigma Lambda Chapter councilor, led the introductions and formally recognized the 44 inductees with their official membership in Alpha Sigma Lambda."
“We are incredibly proud of our exceptional students and recent graduates who have been inducted into the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society,” said Ms. Goolesby-Barker. “This prestigious recognition speaks volumes about their dedication, resilience and academic excellence. Balancing coursework with full-time jobs, family responsibilities and other demands is no easy task, yet these individuals have demonstrated remarkable achievement. Their success reflects the strength and determination of adult learners at ChattState, and we celebrate this inspiring milestone with them.”
